It was 4-20-2024 Toots Lorraine & The Traffic delivered an electrifying performance that took us on a journey back in time to the golden era of West Coast Jump Blues and Swing. Moonshine & Dancing Live at City Limits Taproom & Grille

The event was presented by The Talon Agency in support of the County Blues Musicians Foundation, this band didn't just play music; they transported us to a place where the air was thick with soulful tunes and the atmosphere was charged with infectious energy. It was Prohibition, Rum & Moonshine flowed in the speakeasies throughout Florida.

From the moment they took the stage, Toots Lorraine & The Traffic had the audience hooked. Their blend of classic vibes was nothing short of mesmerizing, enveloping your senses in a rich tapestry of vintage sounds. Each note seemed to echo with the essence of a bygone era, evoking memories of a time when music was raw, passionate, and undeniably soulful.
The band's performance was nothing short of impeccable, with Tyra “Toots” Lorraine powerhouse vocals leading the charge. Her voice possessed a depth and resonance that seemed to defy time itself, carrying us effortlessly through each song with a sense of urgency and emotion that was impossible to ignore. Backed by The Traffic's tight-knit instrumentation, every chord, every riff, and every beat was delivered with precision and flair, keeping the audience on their toes from start to finish.
But perhaps the most remarkable aspect was the way they managed to capture the essence of an era long past while still feeling fresh and relevant in the modern day. Their music may have been rooted in the traditions of yesteryear, but there is an undeniable contemporary edge to their sound that ensured it resonated just as deeply with the audience as it would have done decades ago.
Overall, it was nothing short of extraordinary. With their soulful tunes and infectious energy, they reminded me why I fell in love with music in the first place, if you ever have the chance to catch them live, don't hesitate - it's an experience you won't soon forget.
