Alexander’s Prime Steakhouse has quickly established itself as a cornerstone of Florida’s fine-dining scene. It offers a sophisticated blend of Art Deco elegance and family-owned warmth. Situated on West Granada Boulevard in Ormond, it occupies a space that feels both historic and vibrantly modern. This makes it a premier destination for those seeking a high-caliber culinary experience without the stiff pretension of a corporate chain.
Perfection Is Rare. Just Like How We Order Steak.
Alexander’s is just that: Rare & Perfect.
The Ambiance & Service
The aesthetic is a deliberate nod to timeless class—think "Frank Sinatra vibes" with a contemporary edge. The restaurant is cleverly divided into distinct dining areas, including the refined Victoria Room and a private second floor. This area has become a go-to for local business meetings and wedding receptions.
What truly distinguishes Alexander’s, however, is the service. During our visit, our server Crystal was incredibly nice and professional. She made our dining experience memorable.
The Bar
The bar features an extensive bourbon and wine list, including Caymus and Belle Glos. Additionally, there is a well-balanced craft cocktails menu that caters to diverse tastes.
Culinary Highlights
The menu focuses on steak but offers much more, with a heavy emphasis on dry-aged cuts that are expertly seared and seasoned.
The Steaks
The steaks are sublime, offering incredible choices for all price points. We had the 20oz Prime Dry Aged Bone In Delmonico Rib Eye, cooked to perfection and sublime with every bite.

The Salad
The Caesar salad is a classic. It is crisp and spot on, featuring the perfect parm crisp.
Starters
We enjoyed fresh chilled shucked oysters on the night we went, topped with hints of strawberry and jalapeño.
Bacon lovers will rejoice at the 14-hour slow-roasted bacon bites. These are glazed with bourbon and brown sugar, leaving you breathless.
Accompaniments
The King Crab Mac & Cheese is a decadent must-order side. It balances the salt and smoke of the prime cuts perfectly. In my opinion, it is the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had.
The Verdict
Our Pick For Best Restaurant In Volusia
Kudos to the cooks, chef, and staff. This most definitely includes the dishwashers, who play a crucial role in any classy restaurant.
Alexander’s is a "special occasion" venue that justifies its price point through the quality of its sourcing and the attentiveness of its staff. While the weekend crowd can lead to a more lively (and occasionally loud) atmosphere, the inclusion of live music on Saturdays only adds to its charm as a vibrant community hub.
Exquisite dry-aged prime cuts.
Warm, family-owned hospitality.
Beautiful Art Deco-inspired interior.
Strong cocktail and bourbon program.
Reservations are highly recommended as the main dining rooms fill quickly.
